Key Responsibilities

  • Monitors systems, networks, and networking equipment for hardware and software security weaknesses, vulnerabilities, viruses, and other reliability issues.
  • Monitors agency and vendor security alerts and other security and reliability guidance, determining applicability.
  • Understands network and operating system concepts, protocols, and vulnerabilities, and their significance for specific risks.
  • Skilled at culling information from local and vendor provided databases to determine vulnerabilities and identify solutions.
  • Provides risk analysis and reliability overview and assessment to users and management.
  • Authors and maintains Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages for customer’s systems.
  • Monitors compliance, assess consequences, and develops solutions.
  • Coordinates and develops implementation plans and assists in implementing configuration, updates, and other recommended actions to maintain or enhance cyber security.
  • Provides training and mentoring of Cyber Security Specialist I and II personnel.
  • Maintains system and activity logs and records.
  • Provides professional customer service through responsiveness.
  • Proactively manages personal adherence commitments to meet procedural goals.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 5-8 years of experience in relative field
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance
  • Takes initiative to lead and supports team members in dealing with change.
  • Uses up-to-date technical knowledge, skills and experience to effectively perform jobs and contribute to the success of the department.
  • Displays effective problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates effective use of soft skills – listening, probing and questioning.
  • Customer-focused
  • Multi-tasking
